Hi,

I have a four year old JVC S500BK DVD player which works fine on DVD Video
discs. But I got a few DVD-R discs on questionable media recently which are
giving me problems.

Movies freeze up after about an hour of playing. When I try the same DVD-R
the next day and start at the point where I left off, I can get it to play
for another hour beyond the point. Some of the discs do not play beyond the
point. The disc is warm after playing for an hour.

Looks to me like this player is highly sensitive to imperfections and the
heat has something to do with it.

Any input is appreciated.
