This law expands the Digital Millenium Copyright Act's provisions that
prohibit software used to bypass copy protection. The new law makes it
illegal to "make, import, export, obtain control of, or possess" any
procedures used to get around copyright proteciton.
Not only that, it allows the use of wiretapping in investigation of
"copyright crimes, trade secret theft, and economic espionage." The
FBI would be used to enforce copyright law. I guess this means they
don't have enough to do already when it comes to tracking down
terrorists and Evil Internet Child Pornographers.
