Good point, and no I don't want the hassle. I've seen Tivos can be picked up
for around 100 from eBay but again as with Sky+ it's the extra outlay for
the sub that's putting me off.

I've more or less decided on getting a Freeview PVR. I only have the 15 Sky
sub (entertainment and kids packs) and in all cases where I watch channels
that aren't on Freeview, it all tends to be stuff I just stick on if I'm
bored for half an hour (repeats on UKG2 & Paramount and the like) rather
than stuff I go out of my way to watch. All the things I would actually want
to make a point of watching are on Freeview. Plus, having a second tuner
would be more use to me than the abilities of a Tivo with the single Sky
tuner.
