I don't understand why people get so hung up on the 20% off sale.
Sure, it's a good deal, but it's not the only sale DDD does. So far
this month they've had:
- Buena Vista special editions for $10.49 (including Pulp Fiction,
Jackie Brown, Kill Bill 1&2, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Amelie, Tron,
Ed Wood).
- Up to 45% off Criterion titles (including Mr. Arkadin for $27, and
several films for under $17).
- Warner and New Line special editions for $10.49 (including Seven,
The Big Red One, Rebel Without a Cause, Batman).
- Buy 2 get 1 free on select Paramount films (including all the Star
Trek 2-disc editions, Miracle of Morgan's Creek, Detective Story,
War of the Worlds (1953), Mission Impossible 2, Sunset Boulevard,
The Untouchables, McLintock!, In Harm's Way, Rosemary's Baby).
- A Mother's Day sale with the Warner's Classic Comedies and From
Broadway to Hollywood sets marked down to $24.
- A sale on BBC series (Including Red Dwarf for $18 per season, some
Doctor Who serials for under $13, The Complete Fawlty Towers for $30).
Most of these deals are as good as the 20% off sale, and the Classic
Comedies set is cheaper than what you'd pay for a used copy on Amazon.
