As Dave said, yes it is.

Sony seem to delight in doing this to a ridiculous degree. My Sony Widescreen
was *way* out of kilter when I bought it. The information needed to put it
right
was hard to come by as well (eventually found it on Google, but I no longer
have it).

The colour balance was also completely crap out of the box. Way too much
red (probably for 'punchy' skin tones) and in all it took me about three hours
of mucking about to get it (almost) right. It's still no 'grade A' monitor,
but it's
better.
