I'm skeptical of this claim. I've rarely seen any transfer look better than
the reversal original, unless you're strictly speaking of reduction of
scratches, or improved color on a faded original. In my experience, if the
original was a mint Kodachrome, no transfer looks better than the original
projected film. The Rank & Spirit stuff I've had done is close, but still
not as good looking as the original.

I've never had a problem with film being lost. Most of my transfers have
been done
by a film chain guy down the street from me (typical home movie stuff).
When I need a pro-quality transfer, I've sent to a pro post-house for
transfer. The one post-house is a couple of miles from my house. The other
was near Atlanta. Both pro shops did an excellent job for me.
