Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of DOLLY DEAREST, FOUR FRIENDS, THE
JAZZ SINGER: 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, THE LAST CHAPTER, LOVE BITES,
REDNECK COMEDY ROUNDUP, SECRETS OF A CALL GIRL, STRIP NUDE FOR YOUR
KILLER, THUNDERSTRUCK, and TIME BANDITS (UMD MINI FOR PSP):
DOLLY DEAREST (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 74/100):
"Recommended only for parents looking for an alternate approach to
weaning their children from over-dependence on dolls or stuffed animals.
'You see, Susie?! Little Baby Pumpkin Bottom may actually be the
corporeal embodiment of a child-eating goat-demon!'"

FOUR FRIENDS (reviewed by George Hatch, overall score 75/100):
"Yes, the 1960s was the era of 'free love,' but Georgia's love doesn't
come without cost and consequence to her partners. Halfway through the
film, I began wondering if screenwriter Steve Tesich intended her to be
a metaphor for catastrophe, delivering a kiss of death to anyone who
dared to defy convention and challenge the status quo."

THE JAZZ SINGER: 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION (reviewed by Brett Cullum,
overall score 67/100):
"Can he reconcile his father's expectations with his new aspirations?
Can he find a way to make it big and still keep his faith? Can anyone
explain why this movie is called The Jazz Singer when the man is playing
soft rock?"

THE LAST CHAPTER (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall score 72/100):
"With its wooden acting, corny production values, and a convoluted plot,
The Last Chapter is not a good show by North American standards, but it
does keep you coming back for more, if only out of some twisted sense of
morbid curiosity. For a Canadian TV miniseries - sadly -- this is as
good as it gets. Take that any way you will."

LOVE BITES (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score 60/100):
"You know any hot, non-supernatural French chicks who can replicate
themselves before having sex? (If you do, let me know.)"

REDNECK COMEDY ROUNDUP (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score
70/100):
"I think this disc is for you if you consider yourself a huge fan of
these guys and want to own everything they've put out. Because,
besides from the funny hairstyles some of these dudes had back in the
day (Ron White takes the cake with his perm), I don't see much allure
for this DVD."

SECRETS OF A CALL GIRL (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall score
68/100):
"I'd say that if you picked any Italian gangster-romance out of a hat,
it's probably better than Secrets of a Call Girl."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/secretscallgirl.php
STRIP NUDE FOR YOUR KILLER (reviewed by Bryan Pope, overall score
70/100):
"Title: 10. Movie: 5."

THUNDERSTRUCK (reviewed by Mitchell Hattaway, overall score 70/100):
"I know it's Australia, but does everyone have to look like they've been
slathered with burgundy paint?"
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/thunderstruck.php
TIME BANDITS (UMD MINI FOR PSP) (reviewed by Adam Arseneau, overall
score 74/100):
"It goes without saying that you should not buy a UMD movie -- any UMD
movie -- if you have never seen the film before. Go see it on DVD first,
and decide if you love it enough to purchase a portable version. But for
Gilliam fans, Time Bandits is your only stop in port, as none of his
other films are available on UMD at this time."
