Ive done this on numerous occasions and have "caught out" a few
companies that have clearly passed my address on.

However, to do this - unless you have closed the biggest spamtrap of
all ie "collect all", you are still liable to get untold amounts of
spam adressed to XXXX@yourdomain. ie To make this affective, each time
you add another address, you need to access your domain and activate
that address you just registed as being valid.

At that point, you ask if its all worth it!

You will never disable spam.....but you can combat it by using various
filters and software like mailwasher.
