 That would appear to apply to the MCC 004 disk as well. The quality
 difference between the 12x and 8x are small, but the 16x is terrible
 (as http://home.chello.no/~larse/Plextor716A_Verbatim16x_test.gif).
 
 I'll test a 12x and 8x copy of the non-working 16x DVD on the cheap
 DVD-player to see if they work.
 
 BTW:  For the first time I found a Verbatim (MCC 004) disc that had
 a dye error. Didn't show up until after burn (as a spot). But
 I noticed that the DVD writer slowed down at that spot and
 wrote the rest of the disc at slower speed (is that part of
 the "PowerRec" system?). The tests show that the disk has no
 more errors than usual (actually less since speed went down).
