Use an mp3 encoder such as RazorLame
http://audio.jthz.com/razorlamepack.exe
or
CDex is a CD ripper which can also re-encode mp3s
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdexos


As long as the mp3s play OK on your PC, Cool MP3 Splitter won't have
caused any problem.
