I really doubt it. HD formats are all 16:9, and to this point I've
never heard of any sort of anamorphic compression being used. All the
HD titles I have are square pixel -- even the 2.35:1 OAR titles. That
might just be because they're from cable/satellite, but I don't think
so (as I also have several 480p titles that *are* anamorphic).

Again, I doubt it. At least not for native HD material. I'd imagine an
anamorphic lens will still be great for DVD-sourced material, though.

I believe encoding at that resolution is possible, but everything I've
read suggests it'll be 1080 on the majority of releases on both
formats.
