That was the first episode, Rise, which I thought was rubbish. When I saw it
my first impression was the series would be no good at all. However, I
watched the next episode which was far better and quite a few of the later
episodes are very good, especially The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances 2-part
adventure.
At the end of the day its a matter of choice, I don't think the government
has made watching Doctor Who compulsory yet so you are quite safe to watch
something entirely different.
