I copied my home VHS stuff onto DVD using a Sony DVD Recorder. I can playthem on the pc and I've used all sorts of software trying to edit the film.
I cannot get the format recognised by all the software. I've tried stuff
like Microsoft Moviemaker2 but no format recognised.

I've looked at the files of the DVD and there are 2 files, the first is
video-rm and the other is video-ts. The files are VOB files so I ain't got a
clue what I'm doing wrong. The main folder that the 2 named sub-folders are
 in is called sonata volume.

I don't want to do anything tricky or complex. I just want to edit my
daughtrer's home video's when she was a baby.

Hopefully someone out there can help me.

 Frank.
