The OP asked how to prevent rot. I answered. Not all disks change their
formulation. Not all lasers adjust their output. Rather than give a
convoluted answer, I gave a simplistic one. It is correct in as far as it
goes. I could have written several dozen paragraphs about the topic, but
chose not to. Basic concepts, basic answer. Sorry if it did not meet your
approval.
