Thanks for the clarification.
Funny thing about newsreaders and how to set them up: it's a *very*
individual thing (duh!).
I don't plonk or filter any more, because it never seemed to do much
for me. I just skip posts that are obvious spam or whatever, and to
tell the truth, I sometimes read (and even post in) flame wars. They
can fascinate me; I guess it's a touch of masochism :-)
I guess if I read a totally huge NG, I'd have to do more than I do
to ease the burden, but I'm OK with my methods (or lack thereof)
even in microsoft.public.windows.mediacenter, which isn't tiny ;-0
Thanks to slow brain function, I just noticed that I'm pretty OT
here, so I'll stop further posting in this subthread, except in case
of emergency :-)
