When capturing DV 24P footage to Avid from camera... do you need a 24P
capable camera?
Reason I ask is that I was capturing 24P footage from the camera the video
was shot in. Then I had to give up that camera and tried to use a high
quality but consumer type DV camera to finish the job. This didn't work and
I received an unknown error message. I then obtained another 24P capable
camera to finish loading the footage.
Specifically what would happen is that when doing a rolling punch in... the
timecode display on the Avid would read 00:00:00:00 at the punch in point.
During pre-roll the TC reading was accurate.
