When I move files around to different directories, inevitably it wreaks
havoc on my playlists. Does anyone know of any utilities to help with
this? I know it is best to keep them in the same location with the
same file name. However, eventually things get messy and I like to
reorganize.
Technically, what I would like it to do is to use some obscure field in
the tag and give every track a number. Then the playlist would refer to
this number, regardless of where the file is moved.
I could see a utility having the option to make a snapshot of your
playlists in which it would record everything and then a restore option
where it would look where those files have moved and update the
playlists.
