We may disagree on what you would call irrelevant. The OP has been given an
advice which is not true. It is pure disinformation, and needs to be
tackled before more people start to believe it, the word spreads to
Hollywood, and pretty soon everybody starts shooting on DVCPro50.
The thread has been clear, if you understand what is being talked about, so
maybe you shouldn't have stepped into it, if you didn't understand it in
the first place?
For his/her budget, "jho" is best off to shoot in HDV, in HD-mode, since
it's only a talking head.
