DVD Player Choppy

Posted by spliffeh on 05/28/06 19:11

My BenQ DVD player (dw1625) plays back DVD's very choppy... The
framerate is low and the video isnt sync'd with the audio correctly.
Also when I burn a DVD, Nero takes almost full CPU usage and makes
anything else impossible to do.

I know this is normally caused by DMA not being enabled. When I go to
my device manager, its on the secondary channel, as the master drive.
Its "transfer mode" is set to "Ultra DMA 2 - Ultra33" mode. This is the
correct mode, right?

Note this system is a brand new dual AMD X2 CPU with dual SLI video
cards etc, so its not a matter of insufficient processing power...

Anyone have other suggestions I can try to get this DVD player working
properly?
