Pseudo effects can totally change your perception of colour though. IF this
quirk in the brain's functioning can be exploited to give an improved
viewing experience, then why not?
Take a look at this illusion:

Run the dropper in photoshop over those "white" and "black" squares, it's
hard to accept, but they are the same colour.
