Hi there,
once I´ve seen a test in which a song has been recorded to mp3 from
UKW-Radio (ca.98kbps) and then has been played to the artists in a
studio.
They couldn´t hear any differences between this recording and the
original CD-Version.
Therefore I´ld say that only a highly trained sound engineer might
hear a diffrence - in a sound proofed studio with an umpteen
thousands-euro costing stereo system.. ;)
So - as far as Your mp3-Player ´s affected - I´ld say less
sample-rate means more (portable) music - but it´s up to You!
...but if You want to save disk-space - maybe You should use ogg-Vorbis
instead..
It´s free and 168kbps in *.ogg are said to be equal to 192kbps *.mp3.
Greetings
Jo
