This drive came preinstalled in a new base unit from Dell...
I have some Datawrite yellow media (8x) and the first disc I burned went
fine at 8x, but every successive disc is only burning at 4x - they`re
from the same spindle, so should be the same.
I`m burning images with DVD Decrypter, which reports the media as
supporting up to 8x burn speed, but set at "max" i`m only getting 4x out
of it - same happens setting the speed manually to 8x...
Any ideas ? (its got me foxed)
Could the drive / firmware be downrating this media based on the initial
burn ? ("adapting" the rate)
