The deadline wasn't that "firm," considering that Scott went past it with
the reconstruction. It's debatable whether or not the time frame WB gave
was "enough," but Scott agreed to it ahead of time.

The last cut that Scott did before the third narration recording session
only contained one small bit of narration near the end of the film. So
after two recording sessions of narration, he was actually putting less in,
not more.
