I bought the same DVD burner and don't have any problems. My ASUS
motherboard is 6 years old and I am running XP Pro. Boot into BIOS and see
if it is recognized on the IDE channel. If you see the name and model of the
drive, then it is recognized. You didnt mention the model of your
motherboard, you might need a BIOS update. The latest firmware for the 111D
drive is v1.19
