You either have to switch the camera to 480i for videotaping, or load the
HDV vid into your NLE and have the NLE down-convert. I do ALL my video in
720P30 (except sometimes 720P24 for special purposes) HDV, then convert to
DV in my NLE. I shoot everything in HDV because eventually the HDTV formats
and burners will work out their standards, and I'll be able to re-burn all
my archived vids as HDTV. Actually, I already am burning some HDTV (HD-DVD)
on standard DVD-R disks, but limited to about 20 minutes in that format.
