Thanks - will try that, if it makes any difference I don't think a
region has ever been inputted, it switches from 1 - 2 depending on what
disc I'm using. I hope that doesn't make it tricky for RCE....

The DVD title I'm after is Newsradio (something that never became
worthy of a Region 2 disc) - which I think is Columbia/Tri-star - I
think I heard that a lot of/all of their discs are RCE (I could have
been grossly misinformed though).
