Thanks for the link. I've been there and it appears the entire line of that model type doesn't have a hack yet.
I'm certainly willing to open the hood and get info for someone to walk me through seeing if there is a way to hack it./ Perhaps a telltale chip installed or some such...

Go here first, it might already be hacked, but it might not convert
PAL to NTSC if the particular disc is European, for instance. The site
does list players that will do it all and some of them aren't so
expensive.
