That didn't stop DVD though, did it? I wonder if the turning over sides
thing, plus 12" discs had more to do with it.
With DVD the small size, plus easy ordering and shipping on the net
probably won people over more than the early adopters with their flash
systems. And I talk as someone who paid for £350 for my first DVD
player...which is still going.
