No one is trying to stop you from using any MP3 player/software/music
store combination that you have available to you.
Your boils down to that you want to use the iTunes Music Store, but
don't want to use an iPod. Whether or not that is a representation of
reality, it's the essence of your argument. If that's not what your
reality is, your argument is totally bogus.
