Closed formats are what you are going to get, WMA or M4P. Sorry. Just
because more devices can use WMA files, WMA is not less closed; it's
still controlled by Microsoft.

You might consider that failing to license is doing worse, I don't.
Bottom line is success, market penetration and sales.

It does support other players. It CURRENTLY doesn't support the e200s (I
think it does support older Sandisk units) or PSP. Easily fixed with a
third-party app anyway. Hell, with PocketMac (and Missing Sync, I
think), it even supports PDAs.

And iTunes phones, and some MP3 players, and anything anyone cares to
write a plugin for (I've had a beta Archos Jukebox plugin in the past).
