Today, DVD Verdict posted reviews of AGATHA CHRISTIE'S POIROT: CLASSIC
CRIMES COLLECTION, CONSTANTINE (HD DVD), FATELESS, FREEDOMLAND, KISS
KISS, BANG BANG, THE LAST SAMURAI (HD DVD), THE PERFECT STORM (HD
DVD), THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE: SPECIAL EDITION, RUNNING SCARED (2006),
and SHOPGIRL:
AGATHA CHRISTIE'S POIROT: CLASSIC CRIMES COLLECTION (reviewed by
Jennifer Malkowski, overall score 83/100):
"Of course, the real centerpiece of this set, who gives the stories
the most heart and humor is the incomparable Hercule Poirot. The well-
dressed, quirky Belgian with the pince-nez is continually amusing.
Referring to himself in the third person and patently unmodest about
being 'the greatest detective in the world,' he is an out-and-out
drama queen."

CONSTANTINE (HD DVD) (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall score 97/100):
"Keanu Reeves's performance is pretty much the same as you saw in Speed
and The Matrix. He's pissed off, he mutters his discontent to himself,
and leaps into action in manic outbursts."

FATELESS (reviewed by Neal Solon, overall score 98/100):
"What new can a Holocaust film say?"

FREEDOMLAND (reviewed by Neal Masri, overall score 80/100):
"It's half Crash and half C.S.I., with neither half getting the
attention it deserves."

KISS KISS, BANG BANG (reviewed by Steve Evans, overall score 90/100):
"This is self-referential pulp fiction for people who wish Tarantino
would just shaddup and make movies."

THE LAST SAMURAI (HD DVD) (reviewed by Dennis Prince, overall
score 97/100):
"Truthfully, this is an exquisite motion picture...almost ruined."

THE PERFECT STORM (HD DVD) (reviewed by Ryan Keefer, overall
score 84/100):
"Unfortunately by today's standards, some of the effects do show their
age. The water scenes still look good and definitely leave you water-
logged by the end of the movie, but some of the effects that involve
computer generated ships and helicopters do look a little bit comical,
bordering on amateurish."

THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE: SPECIAL EDITION (reviewed by Cynthia Boris,
overall score 95/100):
"And no one (no one but producer Irwin Allen, that is) thought it would
be a success. With an estimated $5,000,000 budget, the movie has grossed
over $93,300,000 theatrically -- and that's 1972 dollars, and doesn't
include DVD sales."

RUNNING SCARED (2006) (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 87/100):
"Holy friggin' crap is this movie a shotgun blast of sensory overload
between the eyes."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/runningscared2006.php
SHOPGIRL (reviewed by Kerry Birmingham, overall score 93/100):
"I can't believe this is from the same guy who made Bringing Down the
House and two Father of the Bride"
