Can't say I'm salivating at the thought of HD. I'm not against either
format, but would prefer upgrading not to be too expensive, and any new
player to be able to play my 'old' DVDs. So HD-DVD looks more inviting
from that point of view.
I also seem to remember reading that supposedly Sony wanted to keep the
Blu-Ray Red Book super-expensive, and refuse to let the Chinese
anywhere near it, so there'd only be high priced players around, that
Sony would make money off, rather than the DVD situation, where the
Chinese ruined it with 20 quid players. That doesn't appeal either,
from my point of view. Or the enhanced region coding - if it's not
multi-region hackable, forget it.
