Your landlord should've already been earning enough money from your rent to
pay for any maintenance needed. I doubt you got a bill for driveway
sealing.
Likewise, studios already receive far above the costs of the discs back
when selling DVD and HD DVD. So even with Blu-Ray possibly costing
significantly more, the studios would still make a profit on the discs
*themselves* at a similar price point. Their profit would be less, but
it'd still be a *profit*. And the smaller profit might be more favorable
to studios, especially those that aren't supporting HD DVD, than pricing
their discs above HD DVD.
