Yes our Apple/Mac experience was terrible. FCP just couldn't stay alive for
more than two productions and when it crashed the issues were costly, let
alone the terrible repair experience with a 4 month old machine, to which
Mac just kept telling us to "reboot" the system as a fix which didn't work
because there was a motherboard problem.
However, one thing I have learned working with NLE (and really video in
general) when it comes to computers, although a 4 cylinder Pinto engine
geared right might pull a rail car, it won't do it well or up to speed, nor
will it last long before there are issues. On the other hand, a 1200 hp
diesel will do the job just fine at less long term cost and get the all the
speed that one needs.
Biggest computer one can get is the best value.
