Hi Mortimer (I used to listen to you on radio when I was a tyke);
I have always been reluctant to drill holes in the shingles/roof and
was wondering if the Henry's roofing cement will actually do a good
long lasting job? It seems to me you would have to actually cover the
bolt heads and the whole mounting area with the stuff to make it
waterproof, or is there another way to do it?
I notice on the home improvement shows that roofing contractors use
some kind of membrane material under shingles now, they say it's self
sealing or something like that. Would this be adviseable to put under
the penetration or would the gooey Henry's be just as good in the long
run? I just happen to have half of a 5 gallon can of the stuff here
which we got to do repairs after Katrina and Rita.
