Yes, but in the past their proprietary CD-RW packet writing formats
(DirectCD for one, I forget the other) have conflicted with each other.
So I would, if possible, try not to install DirectCD with Nero. But this
is ancient history so there may well not be any problem anymore.

VLC is interesting because it's one of the best of a new breed of media
players. What it does is, rather than relying on DirectX and codecs like
Windows Media Player does, VLC uses its own methods and has its codecs
built right in.
