Superbit will have a benchmark as to what the bit rate needs to be to
qualify. lots of times the addition of extras on a disc will result in
lower bit rates than what would qualify, but as young Mr. Gloop points
out several titles, namely David Fancher's Se7en and Panic Room have bit
rates that surpass the "superbit" titles.
Basically Superbit is a disc with no extras and no foreign language
tracks and a bitrate that should fill the disc. Alas, it usually falls
short of that, this article shows that while some superbit titles have
higher bitrates that the standard release, you see that the Patriot
still only has a bitrate of 5.25Mbps, and very few of them get close to
the 8Mbps threshold.
