To many errors on burned media will cause longer read times (for that
sector) causing pixelation.
If your DVD Rom supports C1/C2 or PI/PO testing, Nero CD-DVD Speed
C1/C2 or PI/PO information can be used to check the disc quality,
which gives much more detailed information than the standard
read\verification test.

Nero CD-DVD Speed 'scan test' will read each sector, you can watch the
read of each sector (rate) displayed on graph, that it stays constant
through out the DVD, any slowdown could be sign of hard to read
sectors because of errors.
