I do this sometimes using Nero6.
This is the method I use...

1/ Open Nero6 "StartSmart" and be sure the
very-top of the red screen is set on "DVD".

2/ Go down and select "Nero Recode".

3/ Now select "Recode main movie to DVD".

4/ Now select "Import DVD" and import all or
some of your files.

5/ Follow instructions.

This program will recode to the proper DVD
format.

Also:
When I download movies from TV to my HHD, I
then use Nero6 "VisionExpress3" to transcode
them to the DVD format.

When I copy a DVD from the VideoStore, I use
DVD.Shrink or DVD.Decrypter.

DVD shrink will reduce the size of the
original DVD to fit on an ordinary 4.7Gb DVD
blank.

DVD.Decrypter will not reduce the size, so
then you must use Nero6 "Recode" (see above)
to do the reduction for you, and Nero6
"Recode" gives you the option of copying just
the main movie, or the whole original DVD
with extras.

I have copied many TV & DVD movies using the
above method.
