All remote LANC zoom controls for camcorder have a rocker switch or a rotary
knob to control the *speed* of zooming.

Is there a remote that controls the zoom amount directly? Let's say it has a
twist control (like a motorcycle throttle). At the minimum setting the
camcorder would be at its widest angle, and at its maximum setting the
camcorder would be at the tele end. The speed I twist this control would
control the speed of the zooming.

I think this would work better for following objects that moves quicky
towards and away from the camcorder. With the traditional zoom control,
it's too easy to "overzoom" (zoom to more tele than I want, or wider than I
want).
