There`s an app called "unlocker" that purports to be able to do what you
want (and yes, its a common "feature" in eXcrementPile)

In all fairness, I didn`t have any luck on the one machine I tried it
on, but I think that was a weird system bug (Spybot S&D wasn`t able to
write to the hosts file, and it had me and my other geek mate baffled
for some time - not sure if he ever solved it !)
