You're going to need a video switching box. You can get them fairly
inexpensively at Target or similar stores. You'll hook things up to the
box and then the box goes to your TV. Once you do that, you'll simply
play the device you want and record with the device you want.
If you decide to upgrade to a full-blown entertainment center, the
receiver will do the same thing.
