I just got the 180 Hr, dual tuner model from TIVO this week. It is
connected to my home network via Ethernet cable.
I transferred a couple of TIVO files to my computer using Tivo-2-Go.
Then I opened the filename.TIVO file in VideoReDo (free 30 day trial at
www.videoredo.com), and used "Ad-Detective" to remove unwanted material
(commercials, etc.) and saved the edited file as filename.MPG .
Then I used Tsunami DVD Author (TDA) to make chapters every 5 minutes (just
to be able to skip forward/backward easily on DVD), set up a motion menu,
and burn the DVD.
There is no need to transcode...it takes SO long!
As an alternative, you can get a standalone DVD recorder, and attach it to
the outputs of the TIVO and use the "record to VCR" setting on the TIVO.
