I'm trying to find a way to capture computer game sequences playing under
Windows at 1920x1080 HDTV resolution. I need a fluid 30 fps capture and
I've had problems getting that from any of the software based tools that
capture video sequences, such as Camtasia Studio . Is there any way to
get what I am trying to achieve here?
Has anyone created a device that takes DVI video signal from a Windows
computer in and passes the DVI signal back out, copying it as it passes
through? That way the device would be completely passive and not take up
CPU that the game itself is already competing for.
If that doesn't exist, then I guess I could try the idea of using an HDV
camera to point at an LCD screen and capture the HD output with HD
resolution. Does anyone make a frame or stand that is specific to this
application, to maintain the proper camera angle, distance from the LCD,
etc? I'm guessing this would also require some kind of collar for the LCD
to stop reflections, create ideal lighting, etc?
I really don't want to build all the pieces from scratch and am hoping to
just buy a shrink wrap solution.
