While I agree with you in general, I have picked up good-quality brand
names like RCA TVs and Panasonic VCRs.

The ILO DVDR05-MU1-5.40 is $99 and has a 90-day money back
satisfaction guaranteed return policy (which is why W-M is my first
choice when they have what I want at the right price). The DVDR05 is
identical to the CyberHome 1600 with slightly different cosmetics. Do
not confuse it with the old DVD04 which was a LiteOn, which was widely
proclaimed a disaster.

The DVDR05 burns DVD +R/RW (which is shorthand for DVD +R and DVD
+RW). Use only Verbatim 4x DVD +RWs (recommended by ILO Tech Support).
Sam's Club has them at a very good price.

Do not get the ZU unit - it is obsolete. The MU1 supercedes the MU and
5.40 is the latest firmware. Look for all this on the box next to the
UPC and serial number. It will also say Made in September 2005.
Considering how long it takes the ricksaws to make it from China,
that's basically new on the shelves.
