I used to use a camera ona copy stand and a live single-channel DVE to
pre-compose nice smooth moves to tape for editing wedding type monatges
with. A timesaver in that kind of job. But most of these copy stands
are getting surplused out, replaced by throwing the pictures diectly on
a flatbed scanner. If the stand or the platform under it has some
motion control ability, it may still be a useful tool. Or if you're
shooting actual small objects and not just photos. But for flat art,
scanners and DVE moves in post are the way most of us do it now. The
scanner can shoot tighter high-rez than most of our macro lenses can.
It's the march of progress...
