Riverwest Film & Video has recently moved from 820 E. Locust St.
to 824 E. Center St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.
When Riverwest Film & Video opened, there was an aspiration to
make film equipment available to local filmmakers on a communal
basis. Well, apparently nowadays all the starving artists are
doing digital video instead. So they're taking the move as an
occasion to unload a whole lot of old film equipment cheap.
After a two-day official sale, when I stopped by today I found
a sign saying "Name your price".
I don't know beans about film equipment, so I can't say much about
what's there. (I gather there are some cameras and some reels
of film, but I'm not all *that* sure...) I just thought it'd
be a shame if all this imposing-looking stuff ended up in the garbage,
and the guy who seemed to be in charge said he'd still be trying to
unload it for at least a few more days.
He's willing to ship stuff, but the prices would need to be
enough to recompense him for his time and effort.
