I have a Panasonic harddiskrecorder: DRM-EH55. It's a great equipment,
but I have a problem with the files I have transferred from the harddisk
to DVD+RW. The vob files look alright, but when I try to convert them to
xvid, the result is as if the xvid is decoded. I have analysed the vob
files with Nero and VirtualDubMod, and that is reallyu confusing. I had
recorded a programme from Dutch TV, which is using the PAL system. But
Nero (InfoTool) says it's NTSC. And VirtualDubMod says: frame size,
aspect ratio information: 352x240, 29.970 fps (33367 s).
I have asked someone in another newsgroup to analyse a vob file which I
had uploaded and he writes:
"Everything reports it as a MPEG1 352x240 NTSC video... even though Media
Player Classic clearly plays it as a 720x480 clip. Converting to XviD
with AutoGK gives the same results you described. And lastly, TMPGEnc
MPEG Editor won't load the vob for further processing."
Does anyone know what causes this problem? Is this an error of the
recorder, which can only be corrected by a firmware upgrade? Or is there
something in the settings of the recorder I could change to solve this
problem?
Thanks.
