Dunno about Paypal, but ebay used to be 30 days. Is there a difference now
that they're both the same?

If he intends letting you wait until after he gets satisfaction from the
post-office it'll be more like 1030days (if! ...and I doubt it).
What's he going to do when he gets back anyway (if he's away)?
-Look at it and go "yeah it's broken, I'd better pay this guy his money"?

If it was me, I might consider waiting if the deadline for pp and ebay are
both 45 days... but only after letting him know how serious I am and what I
intend doing in early September.
