Aren't pirated and purchased downloaded the same way? I mean,
legalities aside, how could purchased be all that superior to
downloaded.

The thing is, that I'd agree if downloading actually took anyt time
that could be spent elsewhere - only it doesn't. All I have to do is
log-on to a peer-share system and look for a file that I want to
download, tyen click on what I've found. It does take a while for the
download to start, let alone complete, but none of that time requires
that I do anything. Doing that, I've managed to download a number of
fairly good quality movies (bigger than 700mb) - though much of what I
get are actually TV shows which are good even when half as big. In any
event, it's not an issue of efficiency because the download process is
almost entirely automatic.
